Wildlife & Sightseeing Boat Trips and Tours

A great and different way to go sightseeing is via boat. Approaching from the water gives you unique access to historical sites, experience spectacular coastlines and the opportunity to enjoy Scotland's incredible wildlife responsibly.

Whether you want to island-hop your way along Scotland’s dramatic west coast, visit far flung historical sites, explore the mouths of sea caves, visit the Gulf of Corryvreckan (home to the world's largest whirlpool area),  skirt tiny islands home to thousands of seabirds or visit cliffside castles whilst having a chance to experience wildlife such as coasting alongside minke whales out at sea or floating underneath cliffs that are home to nesting puffins, the options for day boat trips in Scotland are endless and is a great way to get closer to the action in a responsible way.

You can cruise from the historic Isle of Iona to the mysterious Fingal's Cave on the Isle of Staffa. You could visit the far-flung Atlantic archipelago of St Kilda or board a charter that weaves underneath the impressive 3 bridges that adorn the river Forth. Circumnavigate Bass Rock and witness the largest gannet colony in the world up close, or land at the hidden and terribly dramatic Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye, only accessible by boat or a long walk there and back again.

The options are endless and many Wild Scotland members offer fascinating short, half day and full-day tours to various points of interest.

Have a look and find your perfect day trip by boat.

Our member wildlife watching boat trips are operated to be as minimally intrusive as possible to the local wildlife by keeping noise pollution down and keeping a respectful distance.

All Wild Scotland members operate in line with our Best Practice Guidelines in regards to sustainability, accessibility, community and safety.
